<p>There are few things better in life then throwing some balls around, and eating <strong>pork</strong>.  Lucky for you (and me), that is exactly what you can do at the hip newish venue, <a title="Brooklyn Bowl" href="http://www.brooklynbowl.com" target="_blank">Brooklyn Bowl</a> in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  At first I was skeptical about a bowling alley that charged $40 an hour to play, but once I checked out their menu by <strong>Blue Ribbon</strong>, I was hooked.  My appetite instantly picked out the <strong>roast pork sandwich</strong> ($10) with white queso, poblanos, and sweet onions.  Lets just say I dreamed about this savory, gooey meal for many nights after.</p>

<p>The venue also just got a mention from<a title="New York Magazine" href="http://nymag.com/restaurants/features/59438/" target="_blank"> New York Magazine</a> for their <strong>fried chicken platters</strong> ($15-$19).  The wrote:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;A matzoh-meal-and-flour coating accounts for the appealingly grainy, crumbly crunch, but the distinguishing feature is the aggressive seasoning (cayenne, paprika, and salt, plus a flurry of house-dried herbs). “  The chicken arrives hot and juicy, perched on a slice of Pullman bread, with honey for dipping.  It tastes pretty good cold the next day, too.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>Yum.  Even if I haven&#8217;t had the pleasure of trying it, the fried chicken sounds tasty and looks good.  The last time I was there, I did get to sample <strong>The Theresa</strong> ($12), a French bread pizza with butternut squash, mushrooms, and roasted garlic.  An odd combination on paper, but on your tongue, savory and sweet.  We also had <strong>The Classic </strong>($12), which consisted of your basic tomato, basil, and mozzarella-not that the simpleness of the dish made it any less divine; it tasted fresh and had the perfect balance of gooey cheese and bread.</p>
<p>Another hot item to try is the <strong>Rockn&#8217; Roll Fries</strong> ($8).  This pile of melted provolone cheese mixed with gravy and Cajun spices is pored over thin, crispy fries.  I was almost upset it was my turn to bowl as I orgasimicly stuffed my face.  I was also happily sipping their fresh blended <strong>strawberry margarita</strong> ($9 or $33 for a pitcher).  This cool drink wasn&#8217;t <em>too</em> sweet and perhaps went down a little too easily.  I switched it up to a bold and  heavy<strong> Six Point Righteous Rye</strong> ($6) and stuck to that the rest of the night.  On a previous occasion, I had their <strong>Yellow &amp; Blue 2007 Malbec</strong> ($8), but wasn&#8217;t impressed.  Really, stick to one of ten draft beers or their crazy cocktails.</p>
<p>So, even if you don&#8217;t feel like bowling (but really, why wouldn&#8217;t you), you can always stop in for the grub in Brooklyn Bowl&#8217;s front &#8220;restaurant area.&#8221; or a the large bar in the back.  Either way, this is not a place to be missed.</p>
